Production Team Member

Position Summary: Open positions include:

  • Line Operator: Responsible for operating production line to produce finished parts for shipping to the customer or subcomponent parts which are used for subsequent production lines.
  • Line Stocker: Keep welding lines stocked with sub component parts

Department and assignment to be determined based on positions available when hired.

 Expectation of Employee:

  • Maintain a respectful and positive attitude
  • Follow Stop, Call, Wait policy
  • Adhere to the TMS policy

Desired Experience:

  • High school diploma preferred

Essential Functions and Responsibilities may include:

  • Good Attendance
  • Operate stationary or robotic welding machines
  • Stand throughout the shift while loading parts onto welding machines
  • Lift up to 50 pound parts to load various parts throughout the shift
  • Perform quality inspections
  • Follow quality and packing standards
  • Keep area clean making sure the work area meets or exceeds TOA’s 5S standards
  • Complete required documents
  • Perform routine weld tip changes and minor equipment recoveries
  • Ensure proper labeling of finished product
  • Use IQMS chrome books as required

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to see, talk, hear, use hands to finger, handle parts, feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl ,  stand, walk, climb, balance, and lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment/Conditions: The plant environment noise level is loud.  Although the plant is climate controlled, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.  PPE consisting of a hard hat, safety glasses, steel toe shoes, long sleeves, and ear plugs, must be worn at all times when entering and working in the plant.  Special PPE will be provided to the employee such as respirators and must be worn when working in certain areas of the plant. When performing job duties in the plant, the employee is exposed to moving equipment, moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, sharp metal parts, dust, vibration, weld sparks/flash, chemicals when working on the E coating system/tanks, sharp metal parts, and smoke.  All Team Leaders are assigned a fire resistant (FR) shirt that must be worn at all times when entering and working in the welding department. Gloves must be worn while handling parts. There is exposure to heights when using scissor lift, walking on mezzanines, climbing stairs, using ladders, and accessing control panels.

Performance Standards:

  • Progressive pay scale first three years of employment.
  • Annual performance appraisal beginning the fourth year of employment.
  • Attainment of annual goals established between manager and associate.
