Production Supervisor

Position Summary: Monitors daily operations on the production floor in the assigned department.

Required Education and Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years in a manufacturing facility
  • Forklift Certified – Must complete TOA classroom and also on the job practical to become certified
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent leadership and motivational skills
  • Fluent in the English language

Desired Experience:

  • Previous supervisory experience
  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • Associates degree in related field

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Excellent Attendance
  • Provide leadership and direction to Team Leader group
  • Assist Team Leaders with quality, equipment, and personnel issues
  • Verifies that all Team Leader daily documentation requirements are completed
  • Complete all required production reports
  • Complete all tasks and verifications as they pertain to IQMS

Non Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Fill in for absenteeism of Team Leaders
  • Lift up to 50 pounds throughout the shift while filling in for absenteeism
  • Monitor and assist staff with work progress
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Allocate use of available resources

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to see, talk, hear, use hands to finger, handle parts, feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl ,  stand, walk, climb, balance, and lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment/Conditions: The plant environment noise level is loud.  Although the plant is climate controlled, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.  PPE consisting of a hard hat, safety glasses, steel toe shoes, long sleeves, and ear plugs, must be worn at all times when entering and working in the plant.  Special PPE will be provided to the employee such as respirators and must be worn when working in certain areas of the plant. When performing job duties in the plant, the employee is exposed to moving equipment, moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, sharp metal parts, dust, vibration, weld sparks/flash, chemicals when working on the E coating system/tanks, sharp metal parts, and smoke.  All Team Leaders are assigned a fire resistant (FR) shirt that must be worn at all times when entering and working in the welding department. Gloves must be worn while handling parts. There is exposure to heights when using scissor lift, walking on mezzanines, climbing stairs, using ladders, and accessing control panels.
